I feel like this is a semi shout out to me personally. I have never made 35K in my life. I got close a few years ago.

I’ve … I … you know, I would be fucking ecstatic to have that much money.

At the absolute maximum as an adjunct instructor— that is working as many viable hours as there are in a week, and within University System of Georgia regulations— I can make, at best, USD$28,900, before taxes. That’s teaching five classes in Fall and Spring, and three (more likely two) in the summer.
Four of the ten total Fall/Spring courses would have to come from private institutions because, under USG rules, i can only teach six USG Public Institution classes per academic year and still be qualified as a Part-Time Instructor. What do you think happens when I crest that number? They promote me? Hell Fucking No.
They fire my ass, and I maybe don’t get hired again, for a few months.
It’s all fucking broken.
